Green Design
At False Creek Design Group, we believe we are part of something greater. Design can contribute to healthier environments, for people and the planet. Wherever possible, we provide our clients with eco-friendly (and people-friendly) choices, such as sourcing recycled and low-VOC materials, incorporating energy efficient technologies, maximizing natural light, and implementing on-site waste reduction strategies.
We are members of both the U.S. and Canada Green Building Councils and have three LEED®-accredited professionals on staff trained in the principles and application of green building design. One of our recent LEED® projects is a development in Victoria, BC that will achieve Platinum certification, the highest possible LEED® rating. Beyond environmental benefits, though, green design can influence the financial bottom line, often reducing energy, water, and operational costs.
ABOUT LEED®
LEED® stands for Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Green Building Rating SystemTM and is an internationally recognized benchmark for the design, construction, and operation of green buildings. LEED® promotes a whole-building approach to sustainability, evaluating performance in five broad areas: sustainable sites, water efficiency, energy and atmosphere, materials and resources, and indoor environmental quality.
